What a smile makeover can include
- Teeth whitening to brighten the overall shade
- Composite bonding to repair chips, close small gaps and reshape edges
- Veneers to change the colour, shape or length of front teeth
- Zirconia or porcelain crowns for teeth that are heavily worn, broken or discoloured
- Orthodontics to straighten teeth before cosmetic work
- Replacing old, stained fillings with tooth-coloured composite
Most makeovers use a combination of two or three of these. The right mix depends on the starting point and how much change you want.
Planned around your face, not a template
A natural-looking smile depends on proportions: tooth length and width, how much tooth shows when you speak and smile, your gum line, and how your teeth sit within your lips and face. We take photos and look at these details before suggesting anything, and we talk through the shade you want. A very bright white can look out of place on some faces, and we will be honest about that.
Where possible, we favour conservative options that keep more of your natural tooth structure.
How the process works
It starts with a consultation where we listen to what bothers you about your smile, examine your teeth and gums, and take photos. Any decay or gum problems are treated first, because cosmetic work needs a healthy foundation. You then receive a clear plan with the steps, the number of visits and the full cost before any treatment begins.
For crowns and veneers, we trial-fit the final restorations to check bite, shape and shade in natural light before anything is cemented.
Keeping your new smile
Good home care, regular cleaning and check-ups help your results last. If you grind your teeth, a night guard may be recommended to protect crowns and veneers. Whitening results fade gradually over time and can be topped up.
